Just a few more for the road.

I am hard at work, working on our new mineral dealership.

It's quite funny.

When I first started the project, I had more than a few offers for some of the specimens I had originally posted.

A few weeks of selling later, had I accepted those offers, I would be down about $800 on five specimens...

I am first and foremost a person who tries to believe in fairness.

I had offers that in retrospect are ridiculous.

If one person buys from another, it's okay to make a good profit.

Sadly, there are people that would want to buy a new Mercedes from an old great-grandmother for $1 and then re-sell it for $40,000, if they could get away with it.

That is not good business or being business-smart.

It's more a case of 'Bad Humanity' and 'Humanity-stupid'.

'For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?'

Okay, on with the minerals!

Here are a few more coming up on E-Rocks from The Witkam Collection:

Scheelite from Tong Hwa, South Korea (2 specimens):

A beautiful, Gem-Quality Rubellite from the Pala District, California:

See you soon :)

A sneak peek at minerals coming up for sale. : )

Well, the cold, rainy month of November is almost halfway through.

Gone are the days the frolicking in the sun, back are the days of hanging our coats out to dry.

;)

Here are some photos of auctions soon to come up on E-Rocks.com in our second offering of minerals on Mark Wrigley's website!

Specimen of many minerals, including Galena, Boulangerite and Manganoan Calcite:

And here is one of the rare gems being offered up as well, faceted Smithsonite from Franklin New Jersey:

The Chalcedony that ate my Wolframite :O !

Here are some photos of a specimen that I am photographing of Wolframite and Chalcedony from the Little Dora Mine, Colorado.

It's interesting to see the process, almost step by step, of the dark Wolframite being 'eaten' by the Chalcedony.

Reminds me of insects trapped in Amber!

Also, please take note:

Our mineral-selling online website store thing is in the works. I will post a link when it goes online. You will be able to do one-click shopping, via Paypal.

Also, to those in the Netherlands, you are able to come by and view the collection on appointment, most days of the week.

Welcome to the Witkam Collection of Minerals and Gems.

I am setting up this blog to allow people to follow my progress as I work through the large collection of gemstones from my friend, who was left collection by his parents when they passed away.

I will be adding items from the collection on to this blog so that other people can view the minerals.

All minerals are available for purchase, except as noted.

We live in the Northern Netherlands and people are also Add Imagewelcome to view the collection, upon appointment.

Here are a few samples from the collection, enjoy :)
